All three properties
are set within the Blackdown Hills of Somerset. Conveniently
situated approximately 9 miles from the towns of Taunton,
Wellington and Honiton.
Being on the Devon/Somerset border this means that within
easy reach are the coasts of Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Exmouth,
Woollacombe, Weston-super-Mare and we are only an hour
and a half’s drive from Cornwall.
No matter what age you are there is plenty to do. There
are a number of National Trust Houses and gardens nearby
such as Montacute House, Killerton Gardens, along with
places for the children such as Crealy Adventure Park,
Cricket St Thomas Wildlife Park, Diggerland, Woodlands,
Fleet Air Arm Museum and many more.
The nearest town is the county town of Somerset, Taunton
where there are a variety of shops to suit everyone. Taunton
is located just of the M5 (junction 25) which makes it
ideal for those who wish to visit more of the county during
their stay, such as Glastonbury, Yeovil, Street and Britian’s
smallest city, Wells.
Also within an hours drive are Exmoor and Dartmoor with
their breathtaking views and abundance of walks and wildlife.
Closer to the properties, a mile away is the small
rural village of Churchinford with a pub and two rural
farm shops selling local produce nearby. Other villages
nestle in the hills nearby and offer a variety of places
to eat out. The owners of the properties will be more
than happy to recommend the best places to go.
Being set in the heart of the countryside there are
a number of walks around including public footpaths.
There is also fishing, golf and horse riding all within
a half an hour. |
